Pilates Instructors

Anneliese Mordhorst is a Pilates Instructor and Movement Educator passionate about supporting the well-being of her students.  Since completing her professional Pilates training in 2008 she has worked with a wide spectrum of people - from teens to senior citizens, new mothers, athletes, dancers and adults beginning a new exercise routine.  Anneliese trained for Pilates instruction in western Massachusetts at Movement Innovations in Florence, MA; both in mat work and apparatus. She continued to deepen her knowledge of movement and Pilates technique, including new types of apparatus and props at The Pilates Studio in Hadley, MA.

Her interest in somatics and somatic movement lead Anneliese to study a variety of practices within this field, including Body-Mind Centering®, Continuum Movement® and Bartenieff Fundamentals.  She enjoys integrating this experience into the Pilates method.

In the spring of 2013 Anneliese moved her home to the Hudson Valley and currently resides in New Paltz.  She is delighted to enjoy her favorite outdoor activities in a new setting, including swimming, hiking, snowshoeing and biking.  Her palate is excited to discover the abundance of fresh locally grown food and excellent chefs.  She is also looking forward to more dancing opportunities.

The teachers and students at Pilates of New Paltz have warmly welcomed her into the fold, for which she is extremely grateful.  Anneliese is continually inspired by the dedication of her students to a practice that supports their health.
